During his brief but incandescent life, Glenn Gould twice recorded Bach’s Goldberg variations. The two recordings differ in pace, approach, tone and mood. They reflect a gifted artist approaching a monumental work at two very different moments in his life.

Vocalists, too, evolve in their range and their manner of expression. Many female artists stop singing professionally as they age. Yet my affection for singing has only intensified. With a hard-earned depth of knowledge and experience, I’ve discovered a new warmth and richness of both tone and spirit. And so, I sing.
